About Rev Luke S Weaver
The Rev. Luke S. Weaver, 84, a Mennonite minister and a cofounder of Ephrata's Charles W. Weaver Inc. masonry firm, died early Monday morning at his residence at the Fairmount Rest Home, Ephrata R4. He had been under a physician's care.
He was the husband of Anna Mary Eberly Martin Weaver. His first wife, Anna S. Martin Weaver, died in 1961.
Weaver had co-founded the family masonry business in 1958. Weaver was a member of Martindale Mennonite Brick Church,Ephrata R3, where he had served as a minister for several years. He was ordained into the ministry in the Martindale District on Dec. 23, 1954.
Weaver also spent winters in Sarasota, Fla., where he ministered in several churches for 25 years. He also served 16 years at the Tamaqua Mennonite Mission, Tamaqua.
Born in East Earl Township, he was the son of the late Henry G. and Anna Mary Sauder Weaver.
Surviving besides his wife are five sons:Ray- mond W. of New Holland; Irvin M. of Lititz; Luke Jr. of Ephrata R4; Emory J. of Denver; and Lloyd E. of New Holland R1;five daugh- ters:Pearl E.,wife of John Eberly of Browns- town; Miriam A., wife of Lester Weaver of Leola R1; Thelma M., wife of Nelson Hershey of Mountville; Edith C., wife of Paul Gehman of Ephrata R4; and Rosene F., wife of Leonard Martin of New Holland.
He was also survived by a stepdaughter, Lois, wife of J. Mark Zook of Millersburg R1; 40 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; seven step great-grand- children; and a brother. Titus S. of Manheim.
