Rev. Timothy Sisk was born about 1770, possibly in North Carolina. See Research Notes. He was married twice, his first wife is unknown and his second wife was Mrs. Mary E. (Savage) Givens. For many years he preached the gospel, helped establish new churches, performed marriage ceremonies, and carried on his farming operations. He died in 1837 in Hopkins County, Kentucky.

He was first married most likely in North Carolina, but the name of his wife has not been identified. It's thought they had six children (not proven), Elizabeth, Andrew, Anna Alice, Mary "Polly", Kesiah and Milton Sisk.

Tim married Mrs. Mary E. Givens on 18 July 1835 in Hopkins County Kentucky.[1] They had one son, Newton Sisk. Newton was addressed as "unborn" in his father's Last Will, which was filed 17 November 1835 in Hopkins County, Kentucky, thus the will was written prior to Newton's birth date.

Research Notes

Birth Place: It has been suggested that he was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina. However, that county was not established until 1778. It was formed from parts of Surry County and Washington District (now Washington County, Tennessee) on 20 April 1778.

Tax List: The Wilkes County, North Carolina tax list for 1791 thru 1794 shows the following Sisks: Josiah, Timothy, John Sr., Thomas, and Barnabas with various acres. Need to verify.
