About Rhoda Inman

Widows Claim For Pension Rhoda Inman, aged 63, resident of Ever Green (sic), Columbus County, applied for widows pension on husband Jesse Inman, who enlisted about May 1862 with Co. G, 51st Regiment North Carolina State Troops. While in service he was taken sick and came home, where he died shortly thereafter.

Affidavit provided 4 Jul 1885 by Daniel Shaw in support of Rhoda Inman's claim.

Additional Comments: Rhoda Inman was born about 1822 in Columbus County, North Carolina, the daughter of James McColskey and Elizabeth Parker. She married Jesse Inman in about 1838, and at least in 1850 and 1860, they were living in Robeson County. In 1870 the widowed Rhoda was living in Columbus County next door to her parents and maternal grandmother, Rhoda Parker.
