Lawsuit in 1917 is filed in his father's Estate papers, following the successful challenge that Dick and Tom Arledge made against the purported will of their father that had been produced by their sister Mamie Bruns, adjucated in late 1916. Following this, the 1917 lawsuit against Richard Arledge filed by a private detective who claimed that Arledge owed him payment for services which Arledge claims were never perfomed in the above case; Arledge died during the process, and the case seems to have been dismissed or settled out of court.
His last will and testament, dated 29 AUgust 1917, filed in Bernalillo County, NM, is included in Ancestry.com in NC Wills and Probate Records< Mecklenburg County. He bequeathed to his wife Ellen Henderson Arledge Lots 13-17 in Block 49 of the original townsite of Albuquerque as well as two houses on Hill Street in Ward 2, Charlotte, NC. Proved Oct 6, 1917.
