About Richard Armitrader

Richard Armitrader was a son, born to Arthur Armitradinge & Rose Kellam circa 1672 at Accomack County, VA. [Note: Shown in records as Armitrader.]

Circa 1700 he married his 1st wife, Elizabeth Chance. She was a daughter of Henry and Margaret Chance.

Richard was named as an heir on February 23, 1708/09 at Accomack County, VA. He was shown as Richard Armitrader in the will of Richard Garrison, wife (unnamed). [Note: he was evidently his step-son.]

Richard Armitrader & Elizabeth Chance had two children:

Rose Armitrader (b ca 1702 - d 2/24/1755) and Sabrah Armitrader Meers (b ca 1704 - d February, 1785).

Circa 1739 he married his 2nd wife, a woman named Elizabeth (maiden name unknown).

There were no known children of Richard's 2nd marriage.

On March 27, 1744, the widow Rose Chance was named to settle the estate of Jacob Chance. Richard Armitradeer was the security.

On February 24, 1755 Richard made a will at Accomack County, VA. To wife Elizabeth, the whole estate during her widowhood. To daughter Sabrah Meers, the plantation where I now live. Grandsons, William & Benjamin Knock; granddaughter, Patience Knock; Grandson, Levin Knock. Daughter, Sabrah Meers, residual legatee. Son-in-law, John Meers, executor.

Richard died before March 25, 1755 at Accomack County, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.
