Brief overview:
Richard (27), a fashion designer, and his friend Brett Michael Goldin (28), were abducted, tied up, bundled into the boot of Richard's car, and both shot dead - single shots to the head - in Mowbray, Cape Town, on 18th April 2006. They had left a party in Camps Bay, and their bodies were found by police next to the Klipfontein offramp on the M5 highway under some trees. Both were naked except for their socks.

- A gang of five young Athlone males were arrested. Three of them were caught when Camps Bay policemen were patrolling, and spotted a blue Peugeot driving recklessly. They were searched, and one of them had Goldin's credit card. Police spokesperson Billy Jones said that from the card they were able to contact Brett's family. The suspects then showed the police officers where the two victims bodies were. A few hours later, police arrested another two men in Crawford, Athlone.

- Jade Wyngaard (19), and Nurshad David (18) were handed plea bargains in the Wynberg Magistrates court in May 2006. As part of the plea bargain, Wyngaard and David testified for the State against the remaining two accused, Clinton Davids (22), and Shavaan Marlie (25).
- Wyngaard and David pleaded guilty to robbery with extenuating circumstances, kidnapping, the possession of a firearm and ammunition and the possession of a dangerous weapon. They were sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment, of which three years were suspended for five years.
- The State announced a second plea bargain in the case. The other two suspects, Zubair Davids and Yazeed Eyssen were sentenced to two years' jail each on charges of vehicle theft, and possession of stolen goods and an unlicensed gun and ammunition.
- In June 2014, Nurshad Davids and Jade Wyngaard, who were jailed for 12 years in 2006, were paroled, and placed under house arrest, and fitted with electronic monitoring devices.
