About Richard Cunningham

Richard was an English Botanist who became Colonial Botanist in New South Wales, and superintendent of the Sydney Botanic Gardens. He arrived in Australia in 1833, having worked at Kew, Royal Botanic Gardens where he catalogued plants sent by his brother Allan. Killed by Indigenous Australians [Wiradjuri Tribe].
