About Richard Trulan Meadows

Richard Trulan Meadows Sr., 74 years of age, of Nancy, Kentucky, departed this life and entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, April 29th, 2008 at his residence.
Richard was born in Clay City, Kentucky on September 19th, 1933, son of the late Henry and Fannie Campbell Meadows. He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Lexington Army Depot. He was a veteran in the United States Air Force and the United States Army.
Richard was survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Fannie Strange Meadows, whom he married on April 22nd, 1957 in Powell County, Kentucky; five sons, Richard Jr. (and Debbie) Meadows, Tracy Lee (and Darlene) Meadows, Clifford (and Angie) Meadows, Gary (and Andra) Meadows, and Brian Meadows; two daughters, Barbara Choate and Alexandrea Meadows; four brothers, Kenneth Meadows, Roger Meadows, Clifford Meadows, and Larry Meadows; two sisters, Freda Taylor and Nancy Freedmon; thirty-one grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Fannie Meadows; one brother, Everett Meadows; and one sister, Eunice Babbcock.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 in the Chapel of the Hearnes Funeral Home in Stanton, Kentucky with Rev. J.S. New, Rev. Wayne Keith, and Rev. Jerry Frye officiating.
His pallbearers were: Marvin Strange, Gregory Strange, Terry Strange, Richard McClure, Eric Slemp, Danny Darbyshire, Billy Welch, and Maynard Watkins. His honorary pallbearers were: Tony Ritchie, Tracy Meadows Jr., Christopher Crowe, Allen Crowe, Michael Meadows, Ryan Meadows, and James Choate Jr.
Interment followed in Meadows Cemetery in Clay City, Kentucky.
