Pioneer Information: On the 1861 passanger list of the ship Monarch of the Sea the surname is spelled "Hoar."

He was hired by John R. Young to drive four yoke of cattle and wagons of merchandise to the valley of Salt Lake City and started with the J.R. Murdock Company.
