About Richard Swepson

A Patriot of the American Revolution for VIRGINIA. DAR Ancestor # A111945

Richard Swepson's 1st wife was Jane/Jeanne Dandridge. They removed to Lunenburg County into what is now Mecklenburg County in 1760. It is believed that Richard Swepson, accompanied by John Jeffries bought adjoining land in Mecklenburg on the same day. It is believed that the two men were brothers-in-law and that both were in the employ of Colonel Lew Burrell of "Kingsmill" Williamsburg VA, when they came into Mecklenburg, then Lunenburg.
