About Richard Treacy
Richard Treacy was born in Ardleman, County Tipperary, Ireland September 1813. He was the son of Richard Treacy and Bridget Hanley, who are buried at St James RC Cemetery in Colgan. Presumably, Richard's wife, Ellen Healy, is buried with him.
Richard farmed at Lot 26 W Conc 5 Adjala and also Lot 28, 4th Conc Adjala
In 1980 a Cemetery Transcript of Immaculate Conception Cemetery was made by the Simcoe County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. At that time, Richard's gravemarker was described as "Broken White Sandstone."

In North Adjala on the 24th utl., Richard Treacy aged 53 years. The deceased was a native of County Tipperary, Ireland, but spent the greater portion of his life in Tecumseth and Adjala where he leaves a large family, many relatives and acquaintances to mourn his loss.
