Ridgeley (30), a security guard, was shot ten times and his firearm stolen, on Saturday 2nd September, in Perseverance, Eastern Cape, at 14h15.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said Ridgeley was shot multiple times while driving his Nissan NP200 on the corner of the M14 and Kohler Street in Perseverance, and his vehicle veered towards a stationary Yaris where the driver was busy changing his tyre. She said it is alleged that one of the suspects reached into his vehicle, stole his firearm, and fled the scene.
The Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit is now on the hunt for those involved.
Police say the motive is robbery and a case of murder is under investigation.
