Rina (74), and her husband Pikkie Strassen (75) were murdered at their home, in Jacobus Street, Glen Marais, Kempton Park on 19th August 2013. They had both been stabbed and suffocated to death.

  • March 2015: The three perpetrators were sentenced by Judge Majeke Mabesele at Randburg High Court, as follows; Kenneth Mojela (24), was sentenced to 15 years and two life sentences; Thabo Oupa Mphahlele (27), received 18 years and two life sentences; and Ntwape Elvis Koketso Thobejane (25), received 15 years’ imprisonment. A fourth man, Howard Sekwati (27), was found guilty on a charge of receiving stolen goods and will spend 12 months behind bars.
