Robert D. Beste, 79, Washington, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Grandview Healthcare Center, Washington. Mr. Beste was born June 5, 1928, in Krakow, the son of John Beste and wife Cecelia, nee Westhoelter. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Aholt April 29, 1950, at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington. Mr. Beste was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Western Catholic Union. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Beste, on Nov. 20, 2007; one grandson, Danny Brandon; seven brothers, Bernard, Al, Rudy, Joe, Adolph, Harry and Jim Beste; and one sister, Irene Lause. Mr. Beste is survived by two sons, Randy Beste and wife Nancy, Houston, Texas, and Tim Beste and wife Lori, Washington; four daughters, Nancy Pull and husband Bruce, Janice Compton and husband David, all of Washington, Brenda Bear and husband David, Osage Beach, and Lisa Mayer and husband Ronnie, Dutzow; one brother, Thomas Beste and wife Shirley, Washington; one sister, Dolores Frankenberg, Washington; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Washington. Father Bill Thomas officiated. Burial was in St. Francis Borgia Cemetery, Washington. Memorials to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or Our Lady of Lourdes School are preferred. The family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
