Obituary Robert J. Hayes, age 83, of Port Huron Twp., died July 25, 2004 in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness. He was born August 6, 1921 in Yale, and was a Port Huron area resident for most of his life. He married Nina Davison on January 10, 1945 in Port Huron.
He served his country in WWII with the U.S. Navy. He worked for Grand Trunk Railroad and also for Prestolite Wire before his retirement. Bob was a fan of baseball and hockey, and enjoyed watching the Tigers and Red Wings. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Hayes of Port Huron; son, Glenn (Vickie) Hayes of North Street; daughter, Linda (Dennis) Snyder of Port Huron; son, William (Linda) Hayes of Battle Creek; seven grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; his brother, Gerald (Joan) Hayes of New Jersey; sisters-in-law, Jean Wendorf of St. Clair and Dorothy (Chris) Wagner of Port Huron.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kerr.
