Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 16, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Robert F. Jacobs, 78, of St. Cloud, who passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 11, 2012 at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House, after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer. The Reverend Matthew Kuhn will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Robert Fred Jacobs was born in St. Cloud on July 18, 1933, to Frank and Cecelia (Bellmont) Jacobs. He called St. Cloud home his entire life and served his country in the US Army from 1955-1957. He married Donna Mae Zanoth on August 31, 1963; God called her from his side on October 9, 1964. Robert married his "Sweetie" Luella V. Sudtelgte on July 25, 1970. He put himself through college and graduated from SCSU. Robert was a math teacher for 30 years in Albany; he retired in 1995. He was a member of St. Michael's Parish, and the Eagles Aerie #622. His "putzing" in his workshop showed his craftsmanship and intelligence. His garden was his favorite summer pastime. He enjoyed fishing, some hunting, travelling, playing cards, watching birds, and having his grandkids around. Robert was a loving, caring and supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Robert is survived and will forever be missed by: his wife of 42 years, Lue; son Paul (Amber) of Cold Spring; grandchildren Cameron, Emmerson, Lillyan; sisters Dolores Utecht of Eden Valley, Donna Mae (Ray) Ruff of Brooklyn Park, and Evelyn (Robert) Briggs of St. Cloud; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Donna; half-sister Mary Monica OSF; half-brothers Ervin and Gilbert.
