About Robert Gardner Meek

Rob Meek (1952 - 2014)

Brief overview:

Rob (62), an Urban Designer and Architect, and top sailor, was gunned down on 1st January 2014, at their Port St John's holiday home, in front of his family. They had finished dinner and celebrating the New Year, and posing for photographs, when just before midnight three armed males wearing balaclavas ambushed them.

Rob shouted to the group that they had guns. The family all lay flat, and Rob's wife, Di (59), said she hear a gun go off. One of the perpetrators had shot Rob in the groin. They tied a tourniquet and managed to get Rob a nearby TB mission hospital, where two doctors tried to save Rob for two hours. Their two daughters also tried to resuscitate him and kept pumping him with oxygen.
