From Burke's " The Landed Gentry, American Families" Robert Russell emigrated to America circa 1640, probably from Scotland, and settled in Andover, Massachusetts, where he aquired a considerable estate, called, "Scotland Yard." He was born 1630, m. July 6, 1659, Mary dau. of Capt. Thomas Marshall, of Lynn, Massachusetts, and died 1710. being the first person buried in the old south parish burying yard of Andover, MA, Of his 10 children, the second son:
The South Parish "Burying-yard", as it is named in the earliest parish records, was laid out about the time of the organization of the church. The first person buried here was Robert Russell. Robert emigrated to America about 1640 and settled in Andover, Essex, where he acquired a considerable estate called, "Scotland Yard". Text from; "From These Roots"
