About Robert Stanley Simpson
"SIMPSON - Robert Stanley Simpson, 1505 Tacoma St., age 63, died Sunday, May 23, 1954, at Mclaren General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P. M. Wednesday, May 26, 1954, at Groves & Co., Memorial Chapel, Garland at Third Ave., Dr. E. H. Longman officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Mr. Simpson will lie in state at Groves & Co. Memorial Chapel. Death was due to complications after an illness of 5 weeks.
He was born in Burntisland, Scotland, June 11, 1890, son of John and Nellie Simpson, and lived in Flint for the last 23 years, coming here from Fort Dodge, Iowa. He married Clara Hudson at Fort Dodge, Iowa, April 17, 1919. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Canadian Legion Post No. 46. Mr. Simpson was employed at Buick Motor Division for the last 33 years. At the time of his death he was employed in Plant No. 29.
Surviving are; Wife, Clara; 5 daughters, Mrs. E. L. Artibee of Muskegon, Mich., Mrs. R. W. Hooper, Mrs. R. L. White, and Mrs. B. W. McLanahan, all of Flint; 7 sons, Robert H. Simpson of Flint, John Simpson of Muskegon, Mich., S/Sgt Richard Simpson of the U. S. Air Force, James Simpson, George Simpson, Donald Simpson and Ronald Simpson, all at home; 13 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. James Allan and Mrs. James Drysdale, both of Burntisland, Scotland; several nieces and nephews.
Buried in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Section O, Lot 102, Graves 7 & 8 with wife Clara Juletta (HUDSON) Simpson.
