About Robert Strakosch
An impresario like his father Maurice, Robert Strakosch was the "manager in Paris" for pianist Harold Victor Bauer (28 April 1873 Kingston, England-12 March 1951 Miami, Florida). Bauer's very interesting memoir, published in 1948, mentions Robert Strakosch on page 73.
On the sudden death of Maurice Strakosch, the contract to serve as impresario to Maurice's youngest pupil, Louise Marguerite Nicholson, b. 1872, Washington (known by the name Maurice Strakosch gave her, "Nikita"), fell to Robert Strakosch. By March 1893, Nikita told a New York Times interviewer, she had broken with Robert Strakosch, who had managed her Russian tour "so badly" and who "owed her so much money."
In 1907 Robert Strakosch was living in Paris as a "piano concert manager," according to an article in "The Music Trade Review."
In a 1919 newspaper article, Robert Strakosch was described as "the bachelor son" of Amalia Patti, and living in Paris.
