About Robert Walker

Robert Walker, who died at Cornelius yesterday, aged 74, was buried this afternoon. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Luce. The pallbearers were L. Miller, J. T. Dorrien, L. S. Fairchilds, J. T. Fairchilds, Wallace Marsh and John Corey. Interment was in the Purdin cemetery. Mr. Walker was born in Jackson county, Missouri, in 1825, and lived there until he was 19 years old. He came to Oregon in 1844, and located a donation land claim near Greenville, where he lived until his death. Relatives who survive him are: his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Melissa Armentrout, of Greenville, and Mrs. Elizabeth Lyle, of Osburn, Idaho; and four sons, Samuel A. Walker, of Forest Grove, James L. Walker, of Houlton, and Robert M. Walker and William G. Walker, of Greenville.

Robert Walker of Greenville shot himself under the chin, the ball lodged in left eye in an attempted suicide. He did not die, age about 65 years. He gave no reason for the rash act.
