About Robert Ashley Webber
Mr. ROBERT ASHLEY WEBBER, 86, of Knoxville, died Thursday, Aug. 31, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born in Knoxville, June 29, 1892, he was the son of the late Robert D. and Mary C. Merriman Webber. His wife, Vaughneta E. Cooper Webber, predeceased him.
Prior to retiring in 1959, Mr. Webber was a foreman and paymaster with the B&O Railroad. He was an active member of the Democratic Party in Frederick County and was a life member of the Jeffersonian Democratic Club.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Caroline Ayres, Rosemont; Mrs. Evelyn Darr, Shenandoah Junction, WV; Mrs. Romona Castle, with whom he resided; two sons, Paul S. Webber, Walkersville; Alfred L. Webber, Knoxville; one brother, James G. Webber, Knoxville; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Chistian Burial was held at St. Francis Catholic Church, Brunswick; interment was in the Reformed Cemetery, Knoxville; arrangements were by the Gladhill Funeral Home, Middletown.
