• The first confirmed record of Robert in America is his record of service with Captain John Allen's Company of Militia, 2nd Battalion of Westmoreland, Pa. on June 15, 1782. Robert Willis served as a private in the Westmoreland County, Pa. Militia, in 1782 (DAR Source 126102)
• Married Sarah Gibson, 1771, Lancaster Co., Pa. Children:

Eleanor Willis was born in Menallen Twp, Fayette Co., PA, in 1798, daughter of Revolutionary War hero Robert Willis and his second wife Sarah Davis. (Robert Willis' first wife and two children were captured by Indians and never seen again.)
