By his first wife he had no children; by a second, Julianna or Joanna, daughter of Sir Robert Pulford, he had a son, Sir Thomas Grosvenor of Hulme, from whom the Duke of Westminster is descended.

Note: Sir Robert le Grosvenor, of Hulme, did homage for his lands 1373, High Sheriff of Cheshire 1389 and 1394; served France under the Black Prince and in Scotland 1385; married 1st Margaret (dsp June 1370), daughter of Sir John Danyell or Danyers; married 2nd Joan, daughter of Robert de Pulford and widow of Thomas Belgrave, and died 22 April 1396, leaving by her. Sir Robert fought in the Scottish Wars in 1385. He held the office of High Sheriff of Chester in 1349 and again in 1394. His first marriage was to Margaret Danyers.

Second marriage: Joan de Pulford
Later in life, Joan married Robert le Grosvenor, and took her lands with her to that marriage. When Sir Robert married Joan de Pulford, he added large areas of land to an already vast portfolio around Eaton. Eaton became the family seat of the Grosvenor when Ralph Grosvenor married Joan Eaton in 1345.


Heir to his father. Was sheriff of Chesire for several terms.
