About Rodney Aaron Hildebrand
Rodney grew up in the Long Hollow community, attending the Long Hollow school during his elementary years and also the Long Hollow church.
He served in the U.S. Army from May 1952 to February 1954 and was deployed to Korea. He received several medals, 3 of them Bronze Service Stars.
Rodney worked for the U. S. Forest Service. He enjoyed his job and found great pleasure working with the Youth Crew in the summer, instructing them and just having fun. He often went to the schools to give presentations on the forest and wildlife.
He had a wonderful vegetable and flower garden. He took pride in knowing each plant and also was generous in sharing his bounty, whether something to eat or a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Rodney was an outdoorsman. He loved being out in the open, whether it was hunting or fishing. However, he also had a love for old western movies, often in the evenings sitting back and relaxing watching the "oldies". He was always welcoming company, and enjoyed playing a game of cards.
