Roger was christened 7th May 1637, He entered New Hall Inn Oxford University in 1656. He completed his B.A. in 1659 and his MA in 1662. In 1662, he was a clergyman in North Tawton just north of Okehampton (appointed 1662) Roger died 16th April 1716 Roger married Elizabeth Cottell sometimes written as Cottle and other variants
and they had nine children:

A NOTE on the ancestry of Elizabeth, the wife of Roger Gayer, according to "The visitations of the county of Devon : Comprising the herald's visitations of 1531, 1564, & 1620 / With additions by Lieutenant-Colonel J. L. Vivian., Vivian, J. L. (John Lambrick)," Elizabeth belongs to the following family

According to Vivian, Elizabeth has an eventual descent from amongst others, of

The line from Thomas to his grandson John (his brother was the unfortunate Humphrey see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humphrey_Arundell ) John was born in 1513 has some sources, after this the only source I can find is the work of J L Vivian. Vivian is known to be not entirely accurate, and I am reluctant to add more genealogical misinformation on line.
