Probably younger brother to John Covert, not mentioned in his father's IPM (because he was hardly more than a toddler?) but involved in a Fine of 1350 whereby it was agreed that Roger's son Richard and his heirs should inherit "Bradebrugge, a carrucate of land and a rent of 21s. in Asshynton and Burgham, and the advowson of Asshynton" on the deaths of Margaret Covert (John's wife) and of Baldwin Moigne, who had married her daughter Mary. (What is implied here is that John had no male heirs, and Baldwin may not have had any children by Mary, who was presumably deceased. Margaret's son Baldwin was not considered at all, probably because he was still a child.)
There are unexplained bequests to "Julyana Covert" and "Thomas Covert" in Margaret's will of 1366; perhaps they are younger children of Roger.
His wife is said to have been one Isabella Savage, daughter of Sir Roger Savage, but this is from a section of the Visitations of Sussex that is highly unreliable.
