Merritt – Newspaper Date 12 May 1956 Rolland Palm??er Merritt, 52, 331 North Liberty street, Marshall, died suddenly Friday at 1:00 while on duty at the Romannd Kunal plant in Marshall here he had been employed the last 13 years. Mr. Merritt was born June 18, 1902, in Albion, the son of Julius and Martha (Butler) Merritt. He was married to Lena A. Cook, April 13, 1925 in Eaton Rapids. Moving to Marshall from Albion at that time. Mr. Merritt attended Albion High school and was a member of the Albion city band for a number of years. He also helped organize a Marshall City band in 1949. Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Merwin and Mrs. Everett (Martha) Hicks, both of Marshall; 2 grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Wickens, Albion; and two brothers, Floyd Merritt Sr., Grand Ledge, and Glenn Merritt, Marshall. Services will be Tuesday at ??00from the Court Funeral home in Marshall, with Rev. Howard A. Lynah of the Brooks Memorial Methodist church officiating. Burial in Marengo cemetery.
