TOWNSEND -- Ronald J. Daigle, 65, of Townsend, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Keystone Center, Leominster following an illness.

Mr. Daigle was born in Fitchburg, January 5, 1946, a son of the late Harvey A. and Lorraine G. (Frank) Daigle and was a lifelong resident of Townsend. He was a 1963 graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joan E. (Pillsbury) Daigle; two sons, John P. Daigle and his wife Christine of Winchendon, James M. Daigle and his fiancee, Jill Pelrine of Leominster; three brothers, Daniel T. Daigle of Alaska, Donald F. Daigle of Fitchburg, Joseph Daigle of Ashburnham and two grandchildren, Johanna Daigle and James Daigle .

For the past twelve years he has worked in the maintenance department at the Robert F. Kennedy Action Corps in Lancaster. Prior to that he worked many years as a self employed carpenter.

During the Vietnam era, Ron served his country in the United States Navy. He attended St. John the Evangelist Church in Townsend.

He enjoyed working in his garden and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

DAIGLE -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, March 19th at St. John the Evangelist Church, 1 School Street, Townsend. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pepperell at a later date.
