Ronald G. Hepler, 65, formerly of Jamestown, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing. He was born Dec. 21, 1946, in Corry, Pa., a son of the late Glenn and Florence Walters Hepler. He was a 1965 graduate of Corry Area High School. Prior to falling ill in 1979, Ron had worked as a self-employed contractor in partnership with the late Frank Spencer. He was a member of Laborers Union Local 600 and was a certified welder. He also enjoyed camping, canoeing, fishing and traveling - even later in life when he was known for daily riding his electric wheelchair down Route 60 to get coffee. He was a founding member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. Surviving are his wife, the former Linda Samuelson, whom he married Oct. 21, 1967; three children: Trevor (Carla) Hepler of Stanardsville, Va., Tara (Richard) Chase of Ashville and Matthew Hepler of Charlottesville, Va.; two grandchildren: Devyn and Zander Chase of Ashville; three brothers: Gerald Hepler of Corry, Pa., Willi-am (Judy) Hepler of Homosassa Springs, Fla., and Russell (Jeannie) Hepler of St. Cloud, Fla.; and a sister, Patricia (William) Proper of Waterford, Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents.
