About Ronald Cropper Reeve
Ronald Cropper Reeve, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed peacefully away on May 18, 2009. He was born May 27, 1920 in Hinckley, Utah to Arthur Henry and Mary Amelia Cropper Reeve. Ron grew up in Hinckley, Utah where he learned to work hard and care for others throughout his long life. Ron graduated from Utah State University and later from Iowa State University majoring in Agricultural Engineering. He married Aldus Moser December 29, 1940.
Ron served 31 years with the US Department of Agriculture, five years as a consultant to Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc., in eight foreign countries, and in all 50 states. He became nationally and internationally recognized as the authority on drainage and reclamation of salt affected soils. Ron led the development of corrugated plastic pipe and laser grade control of drainage machines used throughout the world today, and was sent by President Kennedy as an international drainage and salinity management consultant to numerous foreign countries, including the Soviet Union, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Turkey, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and Mexico. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Aldus Moser Reeve of 68 years, his two sons and spouse, Ronald Jr., and William (Carol), 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; and sisters: Marylene Dastrup and Cherol Blake. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rex and Thomas; son, John, and granddaughter Heather. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 11 a.m., at the Southgate LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 1282 W. 500 S. Circle, (off of Indian Hills Drive) St. George, UT. A viewing will be held Friday, from 6-8 p.m., at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., and Saturday, from 10-10:45 a.m., at the Southgate LDS 1st Ward Chapel (off of Indian Hills Dr), prior to services. Interment will be Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at 12 :00 p.m., in the Tonaquint Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary
