Ronald A. Sowell Jackson

Ronald Allan Sowell, born on September 3, 1949, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Ronald died from complications of his heart and stomach ulcers. He was born at King Daughters Hospital in Canton. Ronald was the youngest of four siblings.

On September 9, 1972, he married Cynthia Elaine Ward. Ronald graduated from Calloway High in Jackson and from USM with a BS in Religion and Philosophy and a minor in Elementary Education. He was a retired businessman.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ralph and Hazel Sowell.

He is survived by Cindy, and their three children, Christy Lindsey (Sam), Angela Smith (Gregory), and Christopher Brandon Sowell. Ron leaves six grandchildren: Brooklyn, Chloe, Hunter, Kayla, Hannah, and Candyn. He also leaves his brothers, Ralph Sowell (Gloria) and Darby Sowell (Lynda) from Jackson, MS, and sister, Judy Sowell Lucius (Jim) from Baton Rouge, LA. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins who loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton, at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 12, with the service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Damascus Baptist Church in Flora. He will be buried next to his beloved mother and father?..and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever?..May you rest in peace, our precious brother. With love, Ralph, Judy, and Darby.
