Mrs. John Riesterer, aged 62, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at her home, one and one-half mile west of St. Nazianz, after a lingering illness of more than ten years duration. Mrs. Riesterer, nee Rose Anhalt, was born March 26, 1876 in the town of Rhine, and on September 11, 1894 was married to John Riesterer. After their marriage the couple settled on the present farm homestead.

Survivors are the following: Her husband, John Riesterer, Sr.,three daughters, Mrs. Clemens Endries, Kiel R. 2, Mrs. John Schnell, St. Nazianz and Mrs. Joseph Schnell, Kiel R. 2; nine sons, Frank and John of Chilton, R. 4, Peter and Anton of Kiel R. 1, Robert, Joseph and William of St. Nazianz, and Herman and Stephen at home; seven sisters, Mrs. John Buse of Glenbeulah, Mrs. Isadore Meyer of St. Nazianz, Mrs. Fred Altenberger of Sheboygan, Mrs. Charles Mahloch of Brillion,Mrs. John Bermke of Plymouth, Mrs. Edward Schad of St. Nazianz,and Mrs. Alex Gerhard of Kiel R. 1; four brothers, John Anhalt of Plymouth, Frank Anhalt of Schleswig, and Peter and Joseph Anhalt of St. Nazianz; and 34 grandchildren. One child preceded her in death at the age of five years.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the St. Gregory's Catholic church at St. Nazianz, with the Rev. Fintan Holzknecht officiating. He was assisted by two other priests at a solemn requiem mass. Burial was made in the adjoining church cemetery. - 1939
