About Rosa Ann Stayner

Rosa arrived in America on 4/25/1853, on the ship "International", which sailed from Liverpool. The port of arrival was New Orleans. She was accompanied on this voyage by her younger sister, Nancy Miriam, who was 19 years old. They were bound for the Great Salt Lake in Utah along with many other Mormon immigrants who were on board the same ship.

She married her husband Thomas John Stayner in 1853 in Utah and they had 2 children before Rosa died at the age of 26. Their first child was Rosa Emily Stayner, born 12/11/1856 in Farmington, Utah. Rosa Emily married Anson Vasco Call, 12/14/1874 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. She died 6/12/1950 in Lewiston, Cache County, Utah, and was buried 6/15/1950 in Afton, Lincoln, Wyoming.

Their second child was a son, Thomas Orrell Stayner, who was born 12/25/1854 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died in 1870 in Ogden, Utah, at the age of only 16 years old.
