About Rosalia (Rosa) Fischhof
The births of Joseph Fischhof & Rosalia Blühdorn Fischhof's children birth records state their mother was Rachel / Rosa Blühdorn through 1816 (David's birth). In 1818, dau. Emma's birth record states her mother was Rose Friedländer. (Emma was born in Brno, birth recorded in Bučovice.)
Rosa/Rachel, if she was the widow of a Blühdorn, may have dropped that last name after 10+ years, and reverted to her own geb. name, which was Friedländer.
The gravestone in the photograph attached here states Rosalia Fischhof, geborne Friedländer. Death record at genteam.at "Burial on Jewish Cemeteries" says Rosalia was "Advokatenswitwe." The full death record in FamilySearch.org's Austria, Vienna, Jewish Registers of Births, Marriages, and Deaths, 1784-1911 Wien (alle Bezirke), Sterbebücher, Sterbebuch C 1859 März-1865 (Image 43 of 297) says she was "Advokatens-witwe" and died March 12, 1860 (buried March 15).
Burial:
- Cemetery Währing
- Group 321, Row 5, Tomb No 12
Rosalia's name Friedländer does not appear in the Index pages in Bučovice Births 1784-1846 (though Fischhof does).
On Sept. 18, 1807, Samuel Fischhof, 22 (nephew of Joseph Fischhof), married the same woman who was named on his Familiant entry: Taubella Blühdorn. The bride had not yet taken on a Germanicized first name.
===========================================================================================
Per S.F.: Verlassenschaftsakt in the Bezirksgericht Innere Stadt in Wien, 4A 545/1860, says about Rosa Fischhof née Friedländer (she didn’t make a last will):
Privatiers-Witwe, 73 J., mosaisch, Witwe, Wohnort: Wien, gest. 12. März 1860 Wien, Stadt 348, Kinder:
- 1. Moritz Fischhof, Stadt 1182, Privat
- 2. Carl Fischhof, Handelsmann, Stadt 850
- 3. Eduard Fischhof, Handelsmann, Stadt 524
- 4. Gustav Fischhof, Handelsagent, Stadt 1142
- 5. Julius Fischhof, Geldwechsler, Stadt 731
- 6. Amalia Fischhof verh. Lunge, Kaufmannsgattin in Breslau
- 7. Friederike Fischhof verh. Wiesenberg, Kaufmannsgattin in Breslau
- 8. Pauline Fischhof verh. Neubauer, Juweliersgattin, Wien, Stadt 523.
- Bruder: Max Friedländer, Privat, Breslau
Rosalia, who was married to Joseph Fischhof and called Blühdorn on her children's Bučovice birth records, is not believed to have been the widow of Löbl Blühdorn. Georg Gaugush, in Wer Einmal War describes her as "Rosalia (Rachel) Friedländer (auch Blühdorn) geb. ca. 1787 Olbersdorf oder Kosel (Preussisch Schlesien), gest. 13 März 1860 Wien . . . Tochter oder Schwester des Frabirkanten Moses Blühdorn" (p. 635). But if Rosalia was née Friedländer, she would not have been sister or daughter of Moses Blühdorn -- daughter-in-law or sister-in-law, perhaps.
