Rose Marie Schaffer (Emig)

Rose Marie Emig was born and grew up at Oatfield Road, in the Concord neighborhood, south of Milwaukie, Oregon, and attended St John Parochial School, in Milwaukie. Her family moved to Oak Street in Milwaukie, Oregon, where her residence is listed in the 1940 Census.

She married Karl Schaffer June 13, 1940, at St John The Baptist Catholic Church in Milwaukie, OR. She often worked outside the home to help support her growing family, (9 children). The name of Karl Schaffer was changed to Charles Raymond Schaffer when he became an American citizen; he was born in Argentina. Charlie was his nickname.

Rose Marie was married to Charles for about 19 years, when they divorced in fall of 1958. Rose Marie married John Hayden as her second husband. They were married about 5 years. There were no children from the second marriage.
