Ross Ringer "was born July 30, 1918, at Wisner to Otto and Eugenia (Milligan) Ringer. He attended Wisner Public School and graduated from Wisner High School in 1936. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps, serving in the Black Hills. On Aug. 17, 1941, he was married to Luella Ott at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Beemer. He worked for his father at Ringer Windmill & Well Repair, which he purchased in 1954. He also had served as a police officer in Wisner for several years and been associated with the Sultzer Funeral Home and Kuzelka Funeral Homes in Wisner for 40 years." "He also helped establish the Wisner Senior Citizens Center."
He was survived by his wife, 2 sons, daughter-in-law, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 5 step-great-grandchildren. "He was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and two sisters." Source: excerpts from "Norfolk Daily News", Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004 on page 6.
