Beloved husband of the Late Erma (nee Bast) in 1997 and will be sadly missed by his second wife Arlene (nee Lichti) and her family. Loving father of Karen (Eoin Nisbet), Earl Gerber (Eunice), Sandra (Martins Dike), Anne (Lewis Straus), Orie Gerber, Lenard Gerber, Rhonda Gerber and her partner Allan Grusie as well as Roy's step-children; Diane (Gerald Roes), Marilyn (Gary Zehr), Jane (Alan Fewkes), Ronald Bast (Sandy) and Wayne Bast (Sandy). Dear grand-father of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister; Katie Schellenberger (the Late Stan) and sister-in-law; Esther Jantzi (the Late Ira), as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters; Valentine Gerber (Clara), Lloyd Gerber (Frieda), Clara (Allan Kuepfer), Marion (Ben Kuepfer) and Emma (Onias Martin). Friends may call at the FUTHER-FRANKLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Maple View Mennonite Church, 5074 Deborah Glaister Line, Wellesley, on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
