Sister of Miss Bernice Patterson HTHS Teacher, Dies
Miss Ruby Patterson, sister of Miss Bernice Patterson, who has taught at the Harrisburg Township High School for the past several years, died Friday in the Norbury hospital in Jacksonville, Ill., following a long illness. Their home is at Leroy, Ill.
The deceased taught for several years in marion, and during the past few years she had been substitute teacher in both Eldorado and Harrisburg High Schools.
Messages received by local friends did not give any particulars of funeral arrangements.

Former Resident Dies in LeRoy
Funeral Services for Miss Ruby Patterson, former Wyoming resident, were held at the first Methodist Church in LeRoy Monday afternoon, August 2, with Rev O.E. martin and Rev B.M. Petty, present and past pastors of the church, in charge of the services. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Miss Patterson died Friday evening, July 20, at 10:30 from a heart ailment, with she had been afflicted for about six months.
She was born in Wyomin, the daughter of Mr and Mrs George Patterson and is a graduate of the Wyoming High School. She also graduated from Hedding College at Abindon and held a master's degree from the University of Illinois. She had bee a school teacher for 27 years.
Miss Patterson was a member of the Methodist church and devoted much of her time and energy to its work.
Surviving are four sisters, Miss Pearl Patterson of Adrian, Mich., Mrs E. J. Aeschliman of Peiping, China, and Mrs G.C. Kerr of Harrisburg, Pa., and one brother Forest Patterson of Bloomington.
