About Ruby Gail Perlman
Ruby Gail Frenkel Perlman, age 64, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at 8:35 pm.
She was born in Rochester, NY, a daughter of Clara Frenkel (Kiel) and Dr. Lance Frenkel. Ruby Perlman lived in Savannah for most of her married life and was the loving wife of 42 years to Phillip Max Perlman, a wonderful, kind man. Ruby was also a devoted mother of three children.
She is survived by: Lance Jay Perlman and his wife Gina; Aaron Andrew Perlman and his wife Tessa; Lacy Elizabeth Perlman Chivers; and two loyal dogs Baby and Toby, whom she loved with all her heart. She also had four wonderful grandchildren: Baron, Hunter, Gavin, and Abby. Ruby left behind many kind and loving relatives, including her brother, Dr. Lawrence Frenkel and his wife JoAnn of NJ, and their children Lori Ann and Jason, and sister-in-law Judy Frenkel, wife of her brother, Kenneth Frenkel, who preceded her in death.
Ruby was active in the community, with the Mickve Israel, a temple that she loved dearly, as well as several other worthy charities she supported with time and relentless effort. She worked for the City of Savannah for 16.5 years in the finance department and then retired. She also worked as a substitute teacher in the school system.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2010, at 12 noon, conducted by Rabbi Arnold Mark Belzer. Ruby requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Congregation Mickve Israel.
