Obit in The Sioux City Journal, 23 November 1998: Ruby Marie (Edwards) Teipel, 84, of Elk City, Oklahoma, formerly of Correctionville, died Friday, November 20, 1998, in Elk City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville, with the Rev. Consorcia Sanchez officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Services were held Saturday, November 21, at Martin Funeral Chapel in Elk City. Mrs. Teipel was born October 25, 1914, in Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Ladelle and Fannie (Jividen) Riley. She married Loyed Edwards in 1934. He died in 1975. She then married Norman Teipel in 1978. He died in 1996. She had lived in Iowa and Washington before moving to Elk City in 1993. She enjoyed bowling. Survivors include three sons and their wives, Gaylen and Marie Edwards and Loyed and Ann Edwards Jr., all of Sayre, Oklahoma, and Kenneth and Minerve Edwards of Houston, Texas; three daughters and their husbands, Ardis and Larry Reed and Sharon and D.Q. Williams, all of Sayre, and Jean and Alex Varga of Elk City; twenty-seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Parker of Oak Grove, California, and Fannie Dawdy of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, a grandson, two brothers and five sisters.
