Notes from her son Charles Raymond Varnado (1926-2010), crvarnado2760112 at FamilySearch:

Mother worked for her dad in the post office prior to her marriage. She was content and happy being a full time mother, and later just as happy in her role as a proud grandmother. In the late years she suffered several physical handicaps and toward the last became almost completely blind. I never recall her complaining about her health. Of course, she very much wanted to regain sight but she did not indulge in self pity.
