About Ruby Jean Watson
Ruby Jean Watson of Elkton departed this life on April 7, 2008, to be with her Lord and Savior and her mother, Lettie Breeden Watson (daughter of the late Kell and Lelia Meadows Breeden).
Ruby is survived by her father, Douglas Watson of Elkton, Va.; her brother, Jessie Watson of Elkton; and her sisters, Lois Watson of Beckley, W.Va., and Stella Synder and her husband, Robert, of Westford, Mass.
She was born March 1, 1958, in Page County, Va., and was a member of the Furnace United Methodist Church.
An honor graduate of Page County High School, she was a Baush and Lomb Science Award Recipient. She also graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Ruby recently received her 20-year pin from the Virginia Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services in Harrisonburg, Va., where she worked in the lab as a Serologist.
Ruby was a caregiver for both her parents. She also was a kind and gentle person who loved her family, especially her niece, Cheryl Watson, and her nephews, Bobby Snyder and Chris Watson and his wife, Dinah.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton with the Rev. Nona F. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Elkton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1920-H Medical Ave., Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
