About Ruby madeline Wilson

THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Thursday, February 11, 1915, Volume XXXVIII, Number 13, Page 5, Column 3, DEATH'S HARVEST. Wilson Ruby Madeline WILSON, youngest daughter of George D. and Snow {SEXSON} WILSON, was born February 11, 1894, at Lyons, and died February 6, 1915, at the home of her parents, near Owensburg, aged twenty years, eleven months and twenty-five days.

While she had never been a member of any church, her whole life bore testimony that she was a Christian. Her many acts of kindness and words of cheer will long be remembered by all who were so fortunate as to be among her acquaintances.

To those who visited her, and in many ways helped to make her last few days brighter, she was truly grateful.

Death had not terrors for her, and when she realized she must die she calmly told her parents so and talked to them, leaving messages of love for the absent ones.

Surviving are her parents, three sisters?Mrs. Susie AXE, of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Frank NIGH, Palestine, Illinois, and Mrs. Leo HOLMES, Lafayette?and three brothers?Charles M. of Owensburg; Sentney B., Bedford, and Paul D., at home?besides many other relatives.

The funeral services were conducted at the family home on February 8, by Rev. KNEISLEY, of Owensburg. Interment in the Dishman Cemetery. V.

Through almost a century of Jackson Township history, the SEXSON family extended their warm hospitality to the hundreds of visitors who trekked there each year for family reunions and picnics.

In speaking of the spring, Mrs. HITCHCOCK said at one time ?God put this spring of living water here for all His children and those who have never drank of it, have missed something.

This spring at one time furnished water for the families living in log cabins dotted around on the surrounding hills, one of these families being that of the late John and William BRANDON. On the hill just above the spring can still be seen the marks of the old signal tower which was used to guide earl travelers as they journeyed northward from the Ohio river to this part of the state.

No more loveable, respectable people have ever contributed their part to our county history that this quiet, home-loving couple in their peaceful valley home.
