Rudolph Bachman

Rudolf Bachman (Bachmann) was my 2nd great grandfather. He was born in Switzerland. He enlisted in the French army during the conflict between Mexico and France. After the French left Mexico, he crossed the border into the United states and enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Indian wars. After 5 years he left the United States for Switzerland where he married his fiancé, Thekla Lochle. They came back to the U.S. and settled in Dallas Texas where they had several children. He died in an elevator accident at his place of business.
