Rudolph A. Hofmann Sr., 90, formerly of 729 McKinley Place S, died Thursday at St. Benedict's Center.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Nicholas Landsberger will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Williams Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home followed by Knights of Columbus Council 961at 6:30. Father Pierz Assembly of Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand honor guard from 7 to 9 tonight.

Rudolph Hofmann Sr., was born June 24, 1901, in Albany to Joseph and Anna [Auer] Hofmann. He married Katherine A. Bresmanan July 18, 1922, in St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Northfield. He founded, owned and operated Wide Awake Cleaners and Shoe Shop in 1921, and retired in 1963. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 961, Father Pierz Assembly of Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, St. Mary's Cathedral and Nocturnal Adoration Society. He had been a member of St. Cloud Sportsmen's Club.

Survivers include daughters and sons, Mrs. Charles [Virginia] Monarski and Rudy N. Jr., St. Cloud; Russel, Richmond; Thomas, Rice; Mrs. Richard [Glorianne] Hyneman, Milwaukie, Oregon; Mrs. Charles [Kay] Thomey, Bloomington; 30 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife on Oct. 22, 1988; brothers, Frank, Andrew, Dominic, Leo, Louis[sic], Bert and Ben; and sisters Anna Pratschner and Sophia Lenarz. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jay, Mike and Mark Hofmann, Jack Monarski and Pierre and Chris Thomey.
