Obituary RUSSELL E. JACOBS DIED AT OMAHA FRIDAY, DEC. 31 Russell E. Jacobs, of 1143 Park Street, Blair, died Friday, December 31st, at an Omaha hospital. He had been in failing health for several years.
The deceased was born at Omaha March 5, 1914. He was 62 years of age at his death. Before his health failed, he was a truck driver. For many years he was a driver for the Blair Transfer and also worked for Omaha transfer firms.
He served in World War Two in the South Pacific for a period of three years.
He is survived by his wife, Fern, and by two sons and four grandchildren. The sons are Bruce and Roger Jacobs, both of Omaha.
Also surviving are five sisters and a brother. The brother is Virgil Jacobs of Blair. The sisters are Mrs. George (Frances) King of Blair; Mrs. Harold (Evelyn) Davis of Blair; Mrs. Carl (Norma) Helms of Washington; Mrs. Harvey (Lila) Barker, of Tekamah and Mrs. Kayo (Sirley) Moore of Omaha.
Funeral services will be held at the Campbell Mortuary Tuesday, December 4 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Vernon Clark will conduct the service and burial will be made in the Blair Cemetery.
