About Ruth Bone
Ruth Secrist Bone died on a sunny Tuesday afternoon, September 28, 2010 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She passed quietly, as her children shared this special moment.
Our awesome mother, Ruth, was born on March 31, 1920 in Farmington, Utah, to Henry and Charlotte Udy Secrist, the 10th of 12 children.
Ruth enthusiastically embraced the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life.
She married our dad, Leland Edmonds Bone, of Layton, Utah on June 3, 1940 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together, they created our family of four children.
Our family began in Kaysville, Utah and relocated to Helena, Montana in 1962, where mom and dad remained until they retired in 1986.
In addition to being a fantastic mom, and offering loads of service to her faith, she worked outside our home, mostly as manager of a Fashion Fabrics store. After retirement, she and dad shared time between Layton, UT and Mesa, AZ until Lee's death in 1995.
After that, Mom stayed in Layton for several years later spending winters at Marie's home, then she and Marie became permanent roomies until her death.
