Mrs. Ruth McFarlane Gale, 81, of 2236 Madison, died Sunday morning at St. Benedict's Hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Gale was born Oct. 7, 1894, in Cedar City, Utah, a daughter of Daniel Sinclair and Elizabeth Ford McFarlane. On June 29, 1915, she was married to Archie James Gale in Parowan, Utah. He died July 28, 1934. She had worked at the Union Pacific Laundry for 30 years, retiring in 1965. She came to Ogden in 1922 and was educated in Cedar City. She was a member of the Ogden 6th LDS Ward and was a Relief Society visiting teacher. She was also a member of the Golden Hours Center and Ogden Area Retired Railroad Employees Club. Surviving are three sons and four daughters, Vern A. Gale, Mountain Green, Utah; Clarence C. Gale, South Ogden; Kenneth G. Gale, Montrose, Colo.; Mrs Harold W. (Norma) Rohmer, Washington Terrace; Mrs. Anthony (Elnora) Messina, Paccima, Calif; Mrs. Ted (Clara) Doos, LaPuente, Calif.; Mrs. Elton J. (Bonnie) Carrel, Layton; 30 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Ed (Wanda) Curto, Fremont, Calif. Funeral services will be held at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel with Bishop Stephen Larsen of 6th Ward officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday on hour prior to services. Interment in Ogden City Cemetery.
