Ruth Wilson Large

Born in Trentville community and raied on a farm. Her father also owned a country store. She was the first daughter born into the family. She had one sister and 9 brothers. Her father suffered a stroke while she was young and the family seemed to struggle with his illness and infirmity for years. Seemed to not have a happy childhood. She helped raise her younger brothers and her sister and seemed to have little of a childhood herself. Worked at an open market in Knosville, Tennessee, selling produce form the family farm. This is where she met her husband, James. Also spent some time in her early life living with aniother family helping in the care of their children. Interests were reading and sewing. Never worked olutside the home after she married. Learned to drive a car after she married and raised two children. Was not to social outside church activities and remaied somewhat a loner. Excellent as a student, she helped both her children in school work. In her early life as a wife enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening as well as sewing. Began quite a seamstress and worked out of her home sewing for customers. Active in the Methoodist Church until her senior years.
